Time Pieces: The Best of Eric Clapton, RSO Records, 1982.
This album reached 101 in the U.S. Overall it has sold over 13.5 albums worldwide. This album has my favorite Eric Clapton song, "Wonderful Tonight" which was released in 1977 for the album Slowhand. I can't stop singing this song in. my head, "It's late in the evening, she wonders what clothes to wear. She puts on her makeup and brushes her long blonde hair. And then she asks me, Do I look alright? And I tell her, you look wonderful tonight." Those lines and the voice and guitar are heaven.
She covers a reggae number by Bob Marley, "I shot the Sherif," but adds more rock and roll to it. He does the Bob Dylan number, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." Of course he does Layla, but has a harder rock feel than usual. He helped write this when he was with Derek and the Dominoes." He does another Clapton number, "Let it Grow."
This album is very enjoyable, especially "Wonderful Tonight."
