Movie Review: ****^Three Men and a Little Lady (1990)

 This is a delightful movie, sequel to Three Men and a Baby.  The three men, Peter, Jack and Michael and the baby's mother, Sylvia have had a foursome, platonic in caring for our little lady, Mary, who is now five years old.  In the meantime her mother has formed a relationship with her director and they become engaged and move back to England where they are from.  Our three men find life has changed, and in the end decide to attend the wedding.  They really don't think the boyfriend is right for Mary, or Sylvia.  And when they discover he intends to send Mary away to boarding school their suspicions are confirmed.  

This is a great movie.  Jack (Ted Danson) does a cameo as the vicar as he attempts to delay the wedding.  Very fun stuff.  Sometimes men are slow, but they finally got there in the end.

Movie Review: ****Three Men and a Baby (1987)

 This movie is a brilliant in which three bachelors are put to the task, over night of fathering a baby.  Tom Selleck plays the architect, Peter Mitchell, Ted Danson the actor, Jack Holden and Steve Guttenberg the cartoonist, Michael Kellam.  The baby was left on the door of their high rise condo.  At the same time, Mitchell's sponsor in commercial informed him a package would arrive at his house the next day.  There is confusion between the baby and the package, which happens to be heroine.  When the drug runners come to pick it up the give them the baby with a can of formula.  When they find the package of drugs they realize their mistake and run to rescue the baby, which leads to police intervention.  They are then suspected of being drug runners.

They are able to trick the drug runners, and inform the police all at the same time.  The use a high-rise Mitchell has helped design and supervise the construction and trap the criminals in the elevator with the power off.  They get to the point where they are enjoying parenting; but then the baby's mother shows up and wants her back.  This film has a novel solution.  This movie is fun and won an award for comedy. Tom Selleck portrays a different type of character.  It is directed by Leonard Nimoy.

Movie Review: ***Cocoon: The Return (1988)

The original Cocoon movie was new and fresh, while this movie seems like a rerun of the original.  Not very fresh nor novel, but just replayed.  Most of the original characters are here again.  the Maritime Institute actually finds one of the cocoons.  Fortunately Sara (Courteney Cox) is sympathetic, and they are able to steal the alien back,  after the cocoon had been opened.  Actors playing the older people home for visit include Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, Maureen Stapleton, Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn and Gwen Verdon.  The four old guys playing basketball against a young crowd was a bit of a stretch.  Jack Gilford plays the friend they left behind, and Elaine Stritch his new girlfriend of sorts; however he has difficulty leaving his wife'e memory out of things.  Kitty (Tahnee Welch) the beautiful alien and Jack (Steve Guttenberg) rekindle their love relationship.  In the end, only one couple, the pregnant couple, decide to return.  they need the benefit of no health issues to assure the baby will be OK.  All the others decide to stay.
 

Christmas Movie Review: Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus (2004)

I almost thought it was a waste to review this movie, as the plot is so very close to the movie "My Santa."  However, this movie was the first, and "My Santa" the copy.  Most movies create the scenario where Santa'a son (Steve Guttenberg) has to be married in order to take over as Santa.  They both find women who are sceptical of Christmas, the women have sons, the Santa's have a side kick.  In this movie he is named Nick, while in the other Chris.  The women in both movies has a suitor, more wealthy it appears.  In this version the woman comes out and states the theme to her friend, money or love.  The friend suggests money, ,bit she chooses love.  May we all choose love.
