Book Review: Jinx' Fire (Jinx series #3)

This is the final and best installment of the Jinx series.  Jinx is a young wizard, although a very powerful wizard because he can draw on the power of the forest, the warmth of the forest.  However, something is blocking the forest.  He can feel it less and less.  His master, who was taken prisoner by the evil Bonemaster is being used as a plug to stop the flow of the warmth.  How could the rescue the master without killing him.  At the same time there are three armies marching on the forest, and they are intent on each having a portion of the forest for themselves, using whatever cunning and force they need. 

Book Review: Jinx's Magic, Sage Blackwood

This is the second in this series, and presents the continuing story with Jinx having to learn magic on his own because Simon the wizard has gone off to face the bad wizard.  This is a very good book,  and Jinx has to learn magic without letting anyone know he is learning magic because learning magic is a crime.  However, people are very magical, if he could just discover the key.  Jinx who is the apprentice is growing up fast, and he finds his magic is special because it comes from the forest.  However, he also learns of another magical form KNIP.  This is magic from the city In this book things go from bad to worse.  Jinx does learn magic, but in the meantime the wizard is entrapped by the evil wizard, who wants to rule the world.  The forest begins to retreat, and two or three kingdoms are set to invade the forest and the people who live there to exploit the resource in the trees.  However, to Jinx the trees are alive.  He needs to find away to bring the people of the Urwald together.  These people have always been independent, and never considered themselves a nation.

Book Review: Jinx

This is a new fantasy series, Which I am really enjoying.  Jinx lives in the Urwald, a forest with a few clearings where people live.  Life expectancy must be very short in this area because the forest is very dangerous.  In fact Jinx is being taken by his step father to be left in the forest (sort of like Hansel and Gretl) but things turn out different because Jinx meets a wizard, Simon.  In the forest are many creatures, such as werewolves, werebears, werechipmunks and trolls.  All of these lead to some precarious situations, unless you stay on the trail where there is a truce of sorts. 
There are also witches, who just might like to eat children.
There is an evil wizard as well, the Bonemaster, who uses people's bones to build things and traps people's souls so he can draw on their power. 
And then there are the trees.  Jinx is the only one who can hear the trees.  He is a listener.
