John Denver Windstar symposium 1995

This concert, conference would have been a joy to attend.  This is an environmentalist conference, with talk of caring for planet earth.  However it also includes John Denver as well as Dan Fogelberg performing.  The Colorado Mountains would have been buzzing this night.

Music Review: Greatest Hits 1972

There is lots to love about this album.  I love Fogelberg's voice, and his guitar.  In this album he puts his best.  I have always loved "Hard to Say" and its comments on love and marriage.  It seems many of his song have this theme

"Sometimes it isn't easy and it isn't clear, who's to navigate and who's to steer, and so we flounder drifting ever near the rocks."  That is poetry at its best.  
However there is more.  "Leader of the band" is very nice.  I love "Missing You."  It is a bit more upbeat.  "Make Love Stay" carries the theme from "Hard to Stay" and does an excellent job.  He poses the question, but never really gives an answer.  I guess asking the question is part of the battle.  "Now that we loveNow that the lonely nights are over  How do we make love stay?
This is a fun album.  I purchased at Streetlight in San Jose.

Music Review: Dan Fogelberg: Home Free

This was Dan Fogelberg's first album, and not his most popular.  However it presents him as a folk type singer.  Most of the songs are very mellow, but mellow sleep songs.  However he finally hits his stride with something upbeat with "Any way I love you".  The way he sings this song he appears to be getting more confident everyday, and this it what it appears in general.  Catchy and moving song.  Some of the songs of repetitious features which make them a bit boring.  He sings "Live in the Country" over and over.  "Wysteria" has some very nifty guitar playing.  "The River" concludes the album with a more rockish feel.  Some of the songs have piano accompaniment.
