Christmas Movie Review: ***^A Chrstmas Carol 2009: Jim Carrey
This is the Disney version of "A Christmas Carol" with Jim
Carrey. The characters are so real with their animation, which is their
strength and down fall. It is just too much over done with the new
animations. It makes the characters scary, much to scary for children,
and sometimes for me. I cannot watch this with Tony. Gary Oldman plays Bob Cratchit and Colin Firth the nephew, Fred.

Dktr Pangloss Generally, there is lots to like about this version. But why to all modern movies have to have chase scenes? The part where Scrooge shrinks down and is chased around by the ghost hearse pulled by red-eyed horses is absurd and almost ruins the movie for me. Why? Why? Why? (although: a ghostly hearse IS mentioned in the book. hmmmm?)
ReplyDeleteGary Knowlton Never saw this version never will not a fan of J Carrey
Dktr Pangloss Give it a chance. It's actually one of the most accurate versions out there (except for the chase scene, of course).
Gary Knowlton It looks like its animated
Dktr Pangloss Yes. It is that creepy kind of animation like Polar Express.
Gary Knowlton I love Polar Express though i have the DVD its definately a different kind of Animation.
