Christmas Movie Review: ***A Christmas Story (1983)
This is a classic Christmas tail. It shows the struggles of a boy, Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) and his quest to get a Red Ryder B.B. gun for Christmas. The scene of the cold flagpole and the tongue is a classic. I still makes me laugh. I came close to doing the same thing as a child on a dare. However, when my tongue started to seal to the pole I pulled back and only lost a few cells of tongue skin, and did not become firmly attached. You would think the firefighters would have unsealed his tongue with some warm water rather than giving the kid such a jerk. This is still a fun story. "You'll shoot your eyes out kid." is a classic line.
