Music Review: ****The Best of Broadway: The American Musical.

A better choice, because it has the best songs from about twenty different musicals is ****The Best of Broadway: The American Musical.  This is an enjoyable C.D. put together by PBS (2004)

in conjunction with a series on the American Musical.  This includes "Swanee" from Al Jolson, "I Could Have Danced All Night" with Julie Andrews, Michael Crawford singing "Music of the Night," Ethel Merman "Your the Top" Paul Robeson "Ol' Man River" and ends with Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel singing "Defying Gravity".  What is there not to love here.  This is a fun C.D.
