This is an excellent Clint Eastwood directed, produced and starred in movie. Mike Milo (Eastwood) is sent by his old boss, Howard Polk (Dwight Yoakam) to Mexico to retrieve his son. He has legal issues and cannot go. He finds the mother and talks to the boy's mother Leta (Fernanda Urrejola) who says if he can find the boy, he is free to take him. He finds him Rafo (Eduardo Minett) at the cock fight. He shows very little respect, but Milo is able to talk to him nd they go to his house to get his stuff, where the mother says he cannot go, but they go any way. from this point they are on the run and have many adventures traveling. The truck is stolen, and the travel back country with another car. The Federales are after them as well, but say they were mistaken, Milo is not a drug runner. They end up in a back country town with their car giving out again. In the town Milo teaches Rafo about horse riding. Milo had been a rodeo star.
I rally like the character Milo, and the new life he finds with Marta (Natalia Traven) and her grandchildren. Rafo decides to go with his father and Milo takes him to the border whee they meet him. A good study of the effects of getting older and how to break down barriers. Macho is the name of Rafo's rooster. Rafo leaves the rooster with Milo. Both Rafo and Milo find new lives and redemption.
